Are there more female black authors or male black authors?
You mean of all time? Well, that we do not know the answer to at the moment. Interesting question though and maybe one day we will be able to tell you the answer to that question. In the meantime, enjoy the selections that we have on offer.
Do you only stock African and Caribbean Books?
In general, yes but we will occasionally feature books outside of this specialist area. At the end of the day, the most important thing is to encourage thorough research into building knowledge and that, of course, is not limited to just African and Caribbean culture.
How many books do you have stock?
At the moment there are over 200 titles listed on the site with more titles being added all the time. The plan is to one day list all the African and Caribbean books on the world. Ok, maybe that's a bit of a tall order but at least you can see the vision.
Where can I find your shop?
At the moment we do not have a shop although we are working on getting one as soon as possible. If you are reading this and we now have a shop, then we have obviously forgotten to update this answer. Please feel free to drop us a line to remind us to change it.
Who are African Books for?

Why is Black Studies important?
Well at the end of the day, all study is important but one of the main reasons why we think Black Studies is important is because we believe truth is important. You cannot get to the truth until you consider all angles.
What is clearly evident in the world today is that there has been a conscious effort to minimise the black contribution to the world. In order to truly understand this world we're living in, you will study how all its people have contributed to it.
